Why should I enroll in DAN courses?
Scuba Diving is a relatively safe activity. Thinking back to any training we have received the focus of any dive certification agency is on diving safety. In order to keep scuba diving a safe sport we all need to continue our training. We also need to develop the confidence and skills to aid a dive buddy in need of assistance. We are fortunate in the local diving area to have relatively quick access to medical assistance; however, we don’t always dive close to help. With the training received from DAN courses you will be able to help others by responding quickly and confidently to a diving accident.
I have been trained in CPR and First Aid, how do the DAN courses benefit me?
While the training in CPR and First Aid offered by many medical training agencies provide a foundation, they generally focus on non-diving activities. The DAN training material and skill development sessions are geared towards the diving environment. By having a program with materials that present the training from the view of a diver, we become confident in reacting to potential diving emergency situations.

DAN On-Site Neurological Assessment for Divers
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Fee: $110.00
Approximately two-thirds of divers with decompression illness have evidence of damage to the nervous system. These signs are often vague and can go unrecognized by the diver. This can cause them to be dismissed as insignificant or not dive-related. This program focuses on how to obtain essential information about a diver involved in a dive emergency and what information to relay to emergency medical services. Only medical professionals should diagnose medical conditions. The information you gather while performing a neurological assessment will be useful to help the dive physician understand the extent of the injury and how it has changed in the time it took to get the diver from the dive site to definitive care. The course duration is 3 hours. The certification is valid for 2 years. The course fee of $110.00 covers costs for student workbook, work slate, and certification.

TDI Nitrox
Price $200.00
Course Description
Longer Bottom Times. Shorter Surface Intervals. These are among the many benefits of diving Nitrox — a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen in which the concentration of oxygen is greater than that found in air. You’ve no doubt heard of Nitrox, probably know divers who use it. You also know that using Nitrox safely requires special training and certification.
Traditionally, becoming a Nitrox Diver required long hours in the classroom, learning how to work obscure formulas and use complex dive tables. No more. You’ll learn to dive Nitrox the modern way, using Nitrox-programmable dive computers instead of arcane formulas and complicated tables.
When you are done with the self-study portion of the course, you will meet with your instructor to review your final exam and to take part in a brief, practical application session. Here you will get hands-on experience with oxygen analyzers and Nitrox computers. Your instructor may even provide you with the opportunity to make one or more Nitrox dives.
When you have completed the academic review and practical application sessions, your Dive Center will order your permanent certification card. What could be easier? Nitrox opens a world of possibilities, leading to better, more enjoyable diving. What are you waiting for?
