Apeks Marine Equipment Ltd began manufacturing 30 years ago with one goal - to make the best diving equipment in the world. Our strengths in design, development and engineering craftsmanship produce equipment of such a high standard that they are now the benchmark standards other manufacturers strive for.
Through constant innovation and development Apeks has grown into a major player in the diving industry. We now make more regulators for UK divers than any other manufacturer and export more than 70% of our equipment to over 50 countries.
Still the only UK manufacturer of regulators Apeks is a respected name throughout the world.
Those same high standards that started the company apply just as much today. Ken Ainscough, a keen diver and engineer founded the company with Eric Partington, and the dedicated divers and experts now working at Apeks are all committed to those original values.
The company's design, development, manufacturing and production processes use the latest technology and state of the art equipment. Rigorous total quality control procedures comply with the highest standards under the European Quality Assurance System BS EN ISO 9001 ensuring Apeks' quality which is the envy of others.
Our regulators have been tested by the world's leading authorities on regulator performance and in fact were the first to pass EN 250 and be awarded the coveted CE mark. They consistently come at the top in independent performance tests throughout the world, reflecting Apeks' commitment to investment in research and development.
We design, develop, test, manufacture, and assemble products in our purpose-built factory in Blackburn. As we control the manufacturing process from start to finish Apeks offers a lifetime guarantee, such is our confidence in the reliability of our manufactured equipment. Apeks is the name diving enthusiasts and professionals trust.
We are on the approved defence contractors list for the supply of diving equipment to the armed forces. As well as the wide range of products we manufacture for the diving industry, we manufacture for navies, including the British Navy, for the army, and also for emergency services such as coast guards, police forces and fire services. For example, we are involved in the design and manufacture of the Dual mode mask and supply valves and regulators for current in-service mine counter measures.
Our commitment doesn't end at the sales counter. We care about our customers. Apeks products are backed by a professional service with a world wide reputation and distribution network. Our products and spare parts are widely available and we operate service courses for dealers and professional organisations. Our dealers will be able to help you with any advice required on our products.
Aqua Lung is the name that first introduced the world to Scuba diving more than 60 years ago when Jacques-Yves Cousteau and Emille Gagnan developed the first "Aqua-Lung." PINNACLE is an attitude about life, globally inspired, environmentally impassioned, and technologically state-of-the-art... PINNACLE is about merging you with the elements, immersing you into an alien yet beautiful world and enhancing your EXPERIENCE...
PINNACLE is the end result of over 30 years of development. The evolutionary process began back in 1969 when John Gordon made his first wetsuit. Since then, John and his team have been constantly honing and developing products, creating the world's first wrist seals, ripple knees and heat-reflective laminates (forerunner to today’s titanium lining) in the process. John has worked with NASA and the European Space Agency and designed drysuits for the British and Dutch navies. He resides on the European committee writing directives for wetsuits, drysuits and other marine safety equipment. John's specialty has been identifying obstacles and finding the right TECHNOLOGY to overcome them. His string of design awards pay testament to his insight, ingenuity, and tenacity.
As the company has grown and evolved, it became the innacle that you see today. The spirit of IMAGINATION and nvention continues with the introduction of Merino™, an internationally patented wetsuit-lining perfect for the 21st century. The love of adventure, insightful imagination, and practical experience has led to today’s Pinnacle.
WHAT IS IMPORTANT AT PINNACLE?
Wetsuits and drysuits are complex garments. They are, at their core, survival suits, regulating our body temperature in a cold harsh environment.
But, as sport divers, we also demand that our suits are comfortable, stylish, high-quality and low-maintenance. The main reason we wear a wetsuit or a drysuit in cold water is simply to keep warm. Ensuring that our body temperature remains stable is not only pleasant - it is downright vital. WARMTH is the single most important priority for us at Pinnacle, followed closely by COMFORT, because there's no point being warm if your mobility and enjoyment are restricted.
Pinnacle takes the best available design features, production techniques and materials to create QUALITY wetsuits, drysuits, and accessories that are built to last.
Diving is a hazardous occupation. That's why safety has always been the most important issue for us at Trelleborg Protective Products when designing and producing the Viking diving suits. We see functionality as the most important aspect of safety. A diving suit that works the way it should, is perhaps the best safety assurance the professional diver can get.
Providing sport divers all around the world with diving suits, that are perfectly adapted to their purpose, is our other passion. Suits that give everybody, even the beginner, a special feeling of control and safety that makes every dive just as fantastic - or as undramatic - as expected.
It is this attitude, and of course our diving suits in themselves, that has made Viking the world's leading brand for all diving purposes. And that's why you will always find us in all waters.
Fourth Element began in 1999 with a conversation over a post dive beer in Sharm-El-Sheikh, Egypt. We set out to design high quality clothing with a simple yet diving oriented style. With backgrounds in design and human physiology, we spent a year and a half researching designs and fabrics for a range of casual and technical diving clothing.
The Fourth Element Technical range is designed around the principles of performance, function and innovation. Using the latest fabric technology in unique combinations and designs, the Fourth Element Technical range revolutionises thermal protection for both Wetsuit and Drysuit diving.
The Xerotherm Arctic is the latest addition to the range - it is an extreme performance undersuit combining two layers of advanced fabric to manage the microclimate around the wearer's body. The low bulk construction makes it ideal for using under neoprene drysuits and it retains its performance even when wet.
The Xerotherm Arctic can be used in conjunction with the drybase or the xerotherm base layers for the ultimate drysuit diving thermal protection system.
XS Scuba may be a newer name in the diving industry; however, the ownership behind the name is anything but new. XS Scuba was formed in 2002 by three individuals that spent many years working together developing, promoting and selling diving equipment for one of the major dive manufacturers.
Over 30 years of cumulative experience goes into every product that bears the XS Scuba name. Our philosophy is simple – build reliable products, targeted at the recreational diver, that offer unique features at reasonable prices. From our beginning product of a patented weight belt, XS Scuba has quickly grown to be a full-line supplier of snorkeling and diving products. You bring the bathing suit and the towel, XS Scuba will provide the rest!
XS Scuba is the largest distributor of Luxfer aluminum diving cylinders and Thermo valves in the world. Our expertise in cylinders has allowed us to introduce Worthington cylinders to the diving industry. Worthington, the largest steel cylinder manufacturer in the world, now builds the traditional “low pressure” steel cylinders as well as the new X-Series™ cylinder with working pressures of 3,442 psig. Thermo Valves have become the industry standard in reliability and innovation. The Thermo PRO valve with its nitrox-ready, yoke to DIN convertibility makes it the valve of choice for many divers. Through the strategic acquisition of other diving companies during 2004, XS Scuba is now able to introduce a line of regulators, gauges and buoyancy compensators that are already recognized for their performance and reliability. Major industry publications have awarded many of these products their highest ratings. The innovation and quality that goes into each of these products reflects the standards set by XS Scuba for everything we sell.
Our reputation is built on the products that we produce, the relationships that we develop, the customer service we give, and support that we provide. We understand that the ultimate measure of our success is in the hands of the diving public. We hope you will give us a try.
